經歷前月強勁成長後，印度3月份製造業活動放緩，稍稍讓這個南亞經濟體復甦的樂觀情緒降溫。

根據周二公布的數據，HSBC印度製造業採購經理人指數 (PMI) 3月份數據季調後，自前月的52.5下降至 51.3，但仍創連續5個月數據高於50，亦即產業仍處於成長狀態。

印度今年(3月底止)經濟成長預計低於5%，遠低於幾年前創下的8%以上成長率，係因政策改革緩慢、礙於官僚體系的作業，工業發展遲滯、高通膨和借款成本上升，這些均挫傷經濟成長。

然而，試場期待成長曲線已經觸底，隨著通膨下降，經濟可望逐漸復甦，且政府已努力清除工程項目的障礙，也緩緩讓投資增加。

HSBC印度和東南亞國協的首席經濟學家Leif Eskesen表示：「在大選即將到來之際，經濟改革和投資工程的執行上有一些動力，成長復甦可望成為長期。」

他補充，財務緊縮和企業債務相較高水準，加上銀行呆帳增加，這些對印度的成長形成阻力。
