編劇科恩兄弟、攝影Roger Deakins（007：空降危機、珍愛旅程...） 真人真事改編，主角是美國奧運長跑選手Louie Zamperini， 二戰期間被日本軍長期囚禁虐待，戰爭結束後仍經常作惡夢、酗酒， 也曾經在在海上漂流幾十天...
