一名男子在2000年大陸出差時，因發生意外左眼遭刺傷失明，當時獲得多家保險公司理賠近3千萬；不料到了2008年時，男子赴大陸又稱說自己洗完澡後意外跌倒，不慎弄瞎了右眼，要求支付保險理賠金1300萬，但法院調查後發現，他在事發後還看電視、隔了10多小時才就醫不合常理，判決男子敗訴。

檢警調查發現，該名年約60歲的男子，先是在2000年在廣州發生意外，左眼不慎遭電線刺瞎，當時他曾向多家保險公司申請理賠，共獲得近3千萬的意外險理賠；之後男子再向4間保險公司投保約5千萬，不料他在2008年11月，又發生意外導致右眼瞎掉，再向保險公司申請理賠。

男子聲稱自己是洗完泡泡澡後不慎跌倒，導致右眼失明，但根據《蘋果日報》報導，法院調查後認為，男子在跌倒不慎弄傷眼睛後，並未立刻就醫且還在看電視，到隔天才由友人護送回台就醫，且還能自行將眼中異物摳出，明顯不符常理，判決保險公司免賠。
