配合安平港核定為自由貿易港區，同時升級為自由經濟示範區，在市府多次促請下，國有財產署已決定釋出南區「商8」閒置用地，並訂於4月15號下午2點30分開標，市府歡迎各界踴躍投標。

市府表示，「商8」坐落南區鹽埕段3100、3101地號，面積約23342平方公尺，建蔽率80%、容積率320%，位於安平工業區的東側，近安平工業區、億載金城、安平港及台南機場，離安平區及市中心各景點僅需10分鐘，加上台86東西向快速道路與濱海公路開闢，可快速抵達都會公園、奇美博物館、高鐵台南站，為連接臺南市南區、安平區、黃金海岸及高雄市茄萣區的重要交通樞紐，深具投資開發潛力。
