從小立志當警　「助人很開心」

「這只是身為警察的使命感！」警員涂鎮堃受訪時相當低調說：「這真的沒什麼啦！」因為父親也是退休警員，所以從小就把從警當作志向，「本來就是警察該做的，不過可以幫助人還是很開心」。

涂員警專23期畢業，故鄉在高雄，父親也是基層警員，警專畢業後分派到勤務繁重的新北市服務，父親還特別叮嚀，毒賭色千萬不能碰。他有個交往多年論及婚嫁的女友住在高雄，兩人遠距離戀愛，只能靠休假時回高雄相聚，平日以電話網路相互傳情，最近社會群眾事件多，女友還特別交代要注意安全，感情不隨距離淡化。 （李俊淇／新北報導）
