周姓男子到豐原區三村路土地公廟拜拜時，涉嫌竊取廟祝放在廟旁里民活動中心桌上的背包；豐原警分局合作派出所據報，調閱監視錄影帶查出係慣竊周嫌所為，並查出周嫌目前於台中看守所羈押，立即前往借訊，周嫌坦承因缺錢花用才會行竊該背包。

警方調查，周姓嫌犯（33歲、犯有多次竊盜、毒品前科），於今年5月間獨自前往豐原區三村路土地公廟拜拜，發現有人將背包放置於該土地公廟旁的里民活動中心桌上，一時起貪念，忘記他是來拜拜的。趁該物主不備，進入行竊該背包並得手3000元及手機一支。

柯姓失主平日為打掃該土地公廟的管理員，立即向豐原警分局合作派出所報案，並指稱他才將背包放好，去打掃土地公廟及向土地公上香約5分鐘的時間，背包就不見了。員警立即附近調閱監視器，發現是周姓慣竊所為，並查出周嫌目前因涉他案在台中看守所羈押中，立即前往借提偵訊。

周嫌供稱，因缺錢花用才會「順手牽羊」行竊該背包，並坦承錢已花盡；員警怒斥他這種行為連土地公都看不下去，詢後於23日將周嫌依竊盜罪嫌函送臺中地檢署偵辦。
