20歲的北方悠誠，在球季後來台參加冬季聯盟，新球季即將邁入職業第三年的北方，深受橫濱DeNA海灣之星隊母球團期待。

從佐賀唐津商業高校畢業後，北方是DeNA2011年第一指名的速球派投手，他在冬聯飆出158公里速球，消息傳回日本，讓人十分期待。

他在日職最快自己投出的速球為155公里，這樣的球速有時會出現，但並不穩定，當他可以投到極佳的位置時，基本上實在不好打。

不過控球還是他最大問題，去年他在2軍出賽9場，拿到1勝0敗，防禦率1.72。

被譽為未來DeNA終結者，北方的速球被總教練中畑清鎖定，沒有意外的話，有機會在2014年就上一軍肩負重任。
