大陸網站謠傳，一名即將結婚的大陸空姐因為邊充電邊講手機，結果遭到電流電擊後身亡。面對吵得沸沸揚揚的網路傳言，蘋果（Apple）電腦大陸分公司回應稱，「對死者家屬致以深切慰問」，並表示將就此事進行徹底調查。

中國南方航空23歲空姐馬愛倫，原定8月8日結婚，11日晚間卻使用正在充電的蘋果iPhone 5講電話，因此遭到當場電死。一名自稱死者的姐姐，12日上午在新浪微博上公開妹妹死訊，指出手機是蘋果販售的正版iPhone 5，去(2012)年12月才購買，手機沒有超過保固期，且使用的是原廠充電器，並非盜版，希望能提醒民眾不要在手機充電時講電話。死者家屬並希望蘋果公司能給個交代。

這則網路謠言引發大陸媒體廣泛報導，蘋果大陸分公司公關部發布14日聲明表示，目前廣泛報導南方航空空姐被疑手機充電時打電話被電死一事，蘋果公司對這一不幸事件深感痛心，對死者家屬致以深切慰問，並表示將就此事進行徹底調查，並向有關機構提供全力配合。

大陸芯片方案設計公司ItC華銀總裁陳軍認為，iPhone不能更換電池的設計存在致命缺陷，因為電池是有使用壽命的，使用時間過久或充電過度，容易導致電池膨脹；可拆換手機電池一旦出現膨脹現象，使用者可以立即進行更換，但不可拆換電池手機若出現問題，使用者難以發現，而電池膨脹或導致裡面的液體滲漏，腐蝕手機裡面的其他電子零件，容易導致漏電。
