協會辦麻將比賽被控聚賭　無罪定讞

台灣麻將紙牌休閒協會台北市大安區辦事處前年6月與8月，兩度被台北市警方指稱假藉舉辦麻將大賽之名，實際上卻在協會內聚賭，協會楊姓、傅姓負責人與張姓秘書長等幹部均被依賭博罪起訴，但一、二審都認定該協會沒有營利行為判無罪。

高院指出，該協會平日舉辦麻將積分賽，並未以現金兌換積分，積分也不能兌換現金，僅用來按月依名次發給小獎品或獎盃，不同於一般賭局的單純射倖性，且協會雖收取報名費，但因平日積分賽具有技術性，且報名費用於支應基本開銷，不能直接認定是營利行為，不構成賭博罪，全案定讞。（黃哲民／台北報導）
