針對越南民眾因不滿中國大陸在南海設置鑽油平台引發排華抗議，甚至打砸台商工廠，儘管外交部方面強調會給予台商協助，不過卻有在越南的台商不滿政府駐外館處無法給予協助，任憑台商盲目逃難，在臉書（Facebook）上發文表示自己帶著台商與台籍幹部避難中，「媽的......台灣政府外交部你們能為我們做什麼？？」

這名在越南經營音樂教學的翁姓台商並拍下台商工廠遭到越南民眾放火焚燒的畫面，並留言「現場直擊.......火燒台商工廠，幾千越南人燒殺擄掠台商工廠.......」。

另一名在越南平陽省開設樂器工廠的陳姓台商也表示，越南民眾的抗議根本是有「計劃性」，有許多越南民眾到工廠外頭要求廠內的越南員工一起加入圍廠抗議行列，並配合打砸文房（辦公室），搶奪財物。

陳姓台商也表示，在越南民眾抗議及打砸工廠期間，台商求助無門，只能看著越南民眾擅自進入工廠，即便要逃離暴動區域，也不知道可以找誰求助，「現在已經怕到連自己的工廠都不敢回去了！只能躲在飯店裡面」。
