機密文件：冷戰高峰期險爆核戰

根據1項新公布的機密文件，英、美兩國在冷戰高峰時期，險些誤導蘇聯發動全面核子戰爭，以反擊西方聯軍。

英國「每日郵報」（Daily Mail）報導，這些文件揭露整個世界在1983年，悄悄來到核戰邊緣。部分反核運動人士說，當時的情勢遠比1962年的古巴飛彈危機嚴重。

英國政府文件顯示，北大西洋公約組織（NATO）1983年進行的戰爭演習太過逼真，導致蘇聯誤信西方即將發動核戰。

蘇聯隨即在北極冰下部署配備核彈的潛艦，以及10多架攜帶核武的飛機。

反核組織核資訊服務（Nuclear InformationService）根據「資訊自由法」（Freedom ofInformation）提出要求，取得這些機密文件。

這個組織的負責人柏特（Peter Burt）說：「不可逆轉的核戰一觸即發。我認為，這遠比古巴飛彈危機來得嚴重。」

當時有4萬軍隊橫跨西歐，參與北約代號為「優秀射手」（Able Archer）的演習。
