​紙錢燒1公斤　產1.5公斤二氧化碳

【王璐華／台北報導】中元節即將到來，民眾常透過祭拜與焚燒紙錢表達心意，不過環保署空保處科長黎揚輝表示，每焚燒1公斤紙錢就會產生1.5公斤二氧化碳，並釋放許多一氧化碳和揮發性物質苯、甲苯、乙苯，以及微量重金屬等物質，不僅加速地球暖化，也易影響呼吸道功能並增加致癌風險。

另外，國人習慣露天燃燒紙錢，對空氣品質與環境影響甚鉅，也有引起火災的風險，目前全台已有18個縣市提供紙錢集中服務，普渡期間可將紙錢統一運送由法師舉辦過淨爐儀式，於具有空氣汙染防制設施的焚化爐進行處理，可洽當地環保局諮詢。
