挾持歹徒襲警　警方開槍還擊

凌晨4點44分，高雄大寮監獄又傳出20多聲槍響，據知是歹徒在東側門對警方開槍，警方也持槍還擊，當時現場無線電中，可聽見警員大喊：「歹徒從小窗開槍了！」氣氛相當緊張。

到5點多，現場仍不時有槍聲傳出，待命救護車也展開移動，現場傳出有4人自殺。（地方中心／高雄報導）
