自然界中存在著令人咋舌的擬態例子，讓觀察家除了讚嘆還是讚嘆。如動物界中的蘭花螳螂，存在東南亞的熱帶雨林，外表比真蘭花還美，偽裝成花朵以便捕食採蜜的獵物。

植物界的擬態也很精采，植物專家陳坤燦表示，原產澳洲的鐵鎚蘭Hammer orchid 花朵的唇瓣模擬成雌蜂的腹部，欺騙雄蜂前來交尾，雄蜂停下來的瞬間，唇瓣會彈起來將雄蜂打到蕊柱上，讓雄蜂身上沾黏花粉；另外，原產歐洲的蜂蘭Bee orchid類的蘭花，唇瓣也模擬成雌蜂的樣子，吸引雄蜂交尾，同樣達到傳播授粉的目的，只是蘭花長得如此激似雌蜂，被騙做白工嘿咻的雄蜂就真的冤枉了。（劉燕美／台北報導）
