美官方證實　飲用水中驗出致命變形蟲

【綜合報導】美國疾病控制及預防中心(CDC)稍早宣布，已經確認在路易斯安那州的自來水中，發現致命性的「福氏內格里阿米巴原蟲」(Naegleria fowleri)。

由於水中添加氯氣有助消滅該種變型蟲，路易斯安那州州政府已自上周起向食用水來源添加氯氣，民眾可以放心飲用，但應避免用鼻吸入。 當局指，變形蟲一旦經由鼻孔， 或經身體各部進入腦部，會啃食大腦使患者出現頭痛、發燒、噁心、嘔吐和頸部僵硬等症狀，死亡率極高，一般患者受感染後會在12日內死亡。 本月初便有一名4歲男童，因感染這種阿米巴變型蟲致死。
