南非首位陰莖移植成功的男子康復神速，目前他已克服心理障礙，將捐贈陰莖視為身體一部份，更在「重振雄風」後狂與女友做愛，欲達到「物盡其用」目的。

據《CBC News》報導，南非開普敦一名21歲男子因割禮傷口感染，不得不將陰莖切除。該名男子於去年12月進行陰莖移植手術，醫生原估約2年才能恢復正常性功能，但這名病患恢復速度驚人，短短5個星期就「重振雄風」。

泌尿科主管范德默威（Andre van der Merwe）教授指出，該名病患適應良好，不在意陰莖曾「屬於另一個人」，並已將它視為自己身體的一部分。此外，男子主治醫生表示，目前病人已能正常勃起、射精，擁有正常性生活。
