美青少年持槍自殺人數　創12年新高

美國布萊迪槍枝暴力預防中心（Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence）的報告顯示，2013年全美至少有876名10歲至19歲的青少年持槍自殺，創下12年來新高。報告指出大部分死亡所牽涉的槍支來自家庭成員，其中以父母為主。

美國10歲至19歲的自殺人數自2001起一直呈下降趨勢，但在過去三年中發生逆轉，2013年槍枝成為導致兒童和青少年死亡的第二大原因，僅次於車禍。　　

這份報告指出，很多兒童死亡案件是可以防止的，很多在家放置槍支的人認為可讓家人更安全，但數據顯示在家中放槍，大大增加兒童被射擊或被槍殺的危險，在876名持槍自殺的青少年中，82%是持家庭成員所有的槍支。（國際中心／綜合外電報導）
