立法院司法及法制委員會今天首度排審攸關「同性婚姻能否合法化」的婚姻平權法案，這也是東亞國家史上首次在國會審議婚姻平權法案。不過，法務部的書面報告以「衝擊現有婚姻制度、社會尚無共識、座談會反對意見甚多」等理由持反對修法。

法務部也表示，若將夫妻、男女修正為「配偶」、「父母」、「雙方」等字眼，「與我國親屬人倫觀念嚴重不合」，難以被大多數人民接受。另，「同性婚姻者在生理上既無生育婚生子女之可能」，違反親子關係的血統真實認定原則，也影響身分繼承的順位及其應繼分。
