延長賽11局下半，水手隊攻佔一、三壘，傑克森(Austin Jackson) 敲出內野滾地球，拚盡全力跑上一壘，粉碎天使策動雙殺的希望，水手三壘跑者米勒(Brad Miller)奔回本壘得到勝利的1分，以2比1氣走天使隊，在美聯外卡競逐賽保有一線生機。
賽前皇家隊確定至少可以美聯外卡第1資格晉級季後賽，外卡第2名的機會，由運動家和水手競逐，其中水手隊的淘汰指數只剩1，只要輸球或運動家贏球，就無緣晉級季後賽。
結果運動家今天以4比5敗給遊騎兵，水手又在延長賽獲勝，使美聯季後賽的最後一席懸而未決。
水手隊自2001年之後就未曾打入季後賽，為了在相隔13年之後再度晉級，已決定在明天(29日)推出王牌投手「國王」赫南德茲(Felix Hernandez)，出戰天使隊雷斯穆斯(Cory Rasmus)，做最後一擊。(姚瑞宸／綜合報導)
