Acbel expects revenue growths in 2Q14 and 3Q14
Ninelu Tu, Taipei; Joseph Tsai, DIGITIMES [Monday 23 June 2014]
Taiwan-based power supply maker Acbel Polytech expects its revenues to see sequential growths in both the second and third quarters thanks to orders for large routers from clients in the US and sales growths in both consumer and industrial power businesses.
Acbel achieved consolidated revenues of NT$24.6 billion (US$820.52 million) for 2013, up 0.8% on year, while its net profits grew 19.2% on year to reach NT$1.25 billion with EPS at NT$2.42.
Acbel will also distribute dividends of NT$1.8 per share in cash.
Some market watchers expect Acbel to achieve at least a 20% sequential growth in second-quarter revenues. As for the company's performance in 2014, although Acbel may not see a strong growth in revenues, it will continue to enjoy profit growths, the market watcher added.
Commenting on its plants' labor shortages in the first quarter, Acbel said it is already planning new capacities in Wuhan, China and will start establishing production lines in the second half. The new production lines will be completed by the first half of 2015 and enter mass productions in the second half of 2015. The company is also looking to expand its capacities in Brazil and the Philippines.
