公用電話的正確使用方法是，拿起話筒後再投入零錢或者插入電話卡，接著按要撥出的號碼，絕對不是拿來當發洩的工具。
 
高雄一名男子酒後心情不美麗，走到一間超商前突然拿起電話筒不斷朝自己的頭猛砸，路人嚇到報警，警方趕到後見男子又要咬舌自盡急忙上前制止並通報救護車支援救護；男子鬱悶的訴說都找不到工作、家庭關係又不美滿，警方好言相勸後，男子最後才同意送醫治療。侯昌騰／高雄報導
