為女兒賺嫁妝錢　印度象人藉巨瘤四處行乞

印度新德里一位罹患神經纖維瘤的「象人」父親，為了幫女兒買嫁妝，竟然不願切除臉上的纖維瘤，寧願讓纖維瘤掛在臉上，以博取他人同情，繼續靠行乞賺錢。
 
根據英國《鏡報》報導，50歲的蒙戴爾（Mannan Mondal）因罹患神經纖維瘤症，造成臉部嚴重變形，只剩下一隻眼睛和一隻耳朵堪用。蒙戴爾說，平時在寺廟附近行乞，平均一天能獲得5美元（約台幣150元）收入。

他稱自己生來就患病，但即便如此，他仍在18歲時找到真愛並結婚，育有4名子女。當醫師提出願免費幫他切除纖維瘤的建議時，卻遭他拒絕。他說為了20歲女兒的嫁妝，要留著腫瘤繼續行乞賺錢。（余浚安／綜合外電報導）
