芝加哥機場開放台灣旅客自動通關服務

為了有效解決美國芝加哥歐海爾機場(O'Hare International Airport) 國際旅客入關大排長龍問題，美國海關及邊境保護局(CBP)與芝加哥航管局9日共同宣布，包括台灣在內的38個與美國有免簽協定的國家及地區，即日起可使用歐海爾機場內，提供包括中文等26種語言的全自動通關服務站（Automated Passport Control, 簡稱APC)，這也是全美第一個開放免簽證國家旅客使用上述服務的機場。

海關及邊境保護局表示，自動通關服務站原來僅提供給持有美國與加拿大護照的民眾使用，這次擴大服務層到所有免簽證國家與地區民眾，主要希望能夠解決即將來臨的旅遊旺季，機場入關旅客爆滿的情形，藉此有效疏散排隊人潮，縮短排隊入關時間。
