美國人口調查與統計局發表的最新統計報告，年齡超過100歲的人瑞，約占美國總人口0.02%，其中17%生活貧窮。

美國人口調查與統計局「美國社區調查簡報」本月份發表的「百歲人口：2007到2011」統計報告，數據資料來自2007至2011年之間的全美人口調查。

根據統計，年齡100歲以上的老年人，在美國總計約有5萬5000人，僅占總人口的0.02%。如果以年齡層劃分，65歲以上人口在美國是最龐大的，約有4000萬人，占總人口13%。

百歲以上美國人瑞，約有81%為女性。以婚姻狀況來看，百歲以上人瑞喪偶比例高達82%。

統計顯示，約有17%的百歲以上美國人瑞，生活貧窮。(中央社)
