歐盟外交暨安全政策高級代表艾希頓女士的發言人，代表歐盟發布聲明表示，艾西頓高級代表對主管兩岸事務的高級官員今在中國南京舉行會談表示歡迎；此次會談展現兩岸自2008年實施和解政策以來，雙方民間交流、實質合作及經濟連結增加，已提升雙方互信的程度。艾希頓高級代表鼓勵兩岸持續採取積極作為，以和平方式進一步發展雙方關係。

我外交部發言人高安說，艾西頓高級代表的聲明，代表歐盟肯定兩岸官員正式會面，我國也感謝艾西頓做出此聲明。（陳郁仁／台北報導）
