【汪智博／台東報導】政務委員楊秋興表示，經過一陣子思考後，並和黨高層談過之後，「我確定要朝這個方向（參選高雄市長）走！」強調雖是辛苦的一戰，但是要承擔，「我輸在起跑點，要贏在終點。」

楊秋興今天利用休假專程赴東海岸勘查「鄉村旅店」發展可行性的楊秋興，上午搭火車抵達台東站，面對媒體詢問時做了以上表示，他同時指出，高雄是第二個院轄市，「但現在是五都之末」，身為高雄子弟除感到心酸，也願意出面承擔。
