北門分院縱火　林基雄二審維持死刑

【劉榮輝／台南報導】台南署立新營醫院北門分院附設護理之家，去年10月23日遭癌末病患林基雄蓄意縱火，造成住院老人13死59傷慘劇，今年3月台南地院以林男手段冷酷、無悔意為由，依殺人罪判處死刑，林男上訴，今天台南高分院駁回上訴，維持死刑，但可再上訴最高法院。
 
去年10月23日凌晨，林縱火燒護理之家儲藏室，當時護理之家內只有1名護理人員和2名看護工，無法立即疏散行動不便老人，釀成13人嗆死、59人嗆傷慘劇，警方隨後逮捕躲在醫院後方的林基雄（68歲，在押）。
