【鄧惠珍／彰化報導】Ｇoogle台灣資料中心今下午落成，Google全球資料中心副總裁Joe Cava、經濟部政務次長梁國新、彰化縣長卓伯源等人啟動，宣告Ｇoogle正式在彰濱工業區營運。Ｇoogle台灣資料中心占地15公頃，去年4月動土，彰化縣長卓伯源說，除了地理位置、交通方便、溫和氣候及基礎建設完備等因素外，縣政府積極招商並全力配合建廠，更是國內外廠商建廠最佳的選擇，彰化縣政府以最快速度3天就通過申請案，在不到2年時間落成啟用。

Joe Cava說，台灣資料中心原預計投入3億美金，為因應亞洲上網人數佔全球上網人口5成，且仍以驚人速度攀升中，決定增加一倍投資金額，長期發展計畫將增加為6億美金，目前台灣資料中心台灣全職員工已超過60位，目前仍在增招聘，另還有創新技術的環保效能冷卻系統，可降低50%的耗能。Google台灣資料中心辦公室也延續美國總部兼具創意與快樂的工作環境規模，有遊戲區、健身房，更有吃不完的點心跟飲料，號稱「幸福企業」，各辦公室更以孔子、貂蟬等取名，隱密性高，另有台灣古早味的塗鴉牆，增添台灣資料中心的台灣味。
