【動新聞】40年首見 新加坡街頭暴動

【動新聞／綜合報導】新加坡著名的「小印度」區，周日(8日)晚間發生街頭肢體衝突，最後引發成400人參與的暴動，新加坡警方表示，這是星國近40年來最嚴重的街頭暴動。
 
事情的肇因是在周日(8日)晚間，一名33歲的印度外籍勞工，在外勞常聚集的小印度區，被一輛私人巴士撞死，引發暴動，勞工一開始先是攻擊巴士，接著遷怒附近的車輛，就連到場要進行救護的人員，也被扔擲石塊，而獲報趕到的警方，警車也被攻擊，甚至焚燒。最後是出動了超過300名的警力，花了一個小時才將場面控制，一共27名嫌犯遭到逮捕。
 
根據星國警方統計，這起暴動至少造成10多名警員受傷、5輛警車、1輛救護車與多輛私人轎車受損。
