【陳家齊／綜合外電報導】數百萬的紐約選民周二投票，預料將選出民主黨籍候選人白思豪成為新任的紐約市長。自由派的白思豪誓言改善紐約貧富不均的鴻溝，推動社會計劃，作風將與即將卸任的市長彭博截然不同。

據美國國家廣播公司與《華爾街日報》最新民調，52歲的白思豪（Bill de Blasio）大幅領先共和黨參選人洛塔（Joe Lhota）41個百分點，幾乎篤定勝選。白思豪與他的黑人妻子麥克蕾、女兒吉安拉、兒子丹提經常一起出席造勢晚會，多種族的混合家庭反映紐約市「民族大熔爐」的現狀。紐約市民目前有33.3%是白人，25.5%是黑人，28.5%是拉丁美洲裔，12.7%是亞裔。

民主黨人在紐約對共和黨有六比一的懸殊優勢，但1989年以來未曾贏得紐約市長選舉，白思豪可望將打破這個局面。
