【國際中心／綜合外電報導】美國興起兒童綜合格鬥運動，不少家長希望靠著格鬥訓練小朋友，全美13歲以下，參與綜合格鬥運動的男孩女孩估計多逾300萬人，其中年紀最小的僅有5歲。

綜合格鬥（Mixed Martial Arts, MMA）是跆拳道、摔跤及柔道的混合體運動，在部份人眼中卻是暴力、殘忍的比賽，不過在美國眾多家長熱力追捧下，兒童綜合格鬥掀起熱潮，迅速壯大，紐約攝影師蒙塔爾托周遊全國拍攝兒童MMA熱潮。

「家長百分百愛惜子女，但他們一心希望子女獲勝」。 批評者認為讓兒童參與這種逞凶鬥狠的比賽，可能危及兒童安全以及對行為造成負面影響。不過支持者則認為兒童MMA可以培養小孩自律精神，勝不驕、敗不餒，而且可以強健體魄，不會成為超重兒童。
