【國際中心／綜合外電報導】加拿大1日開始遭狂風肆虐，路樹倒塌電纜也被吹斷，就有蒙特婁民眾拍斷裂電線引發火球，在電纜上延燒的驚人畫面。

當地2日報導指出，超過30萬人受到大風影響，還造成部分地區電力供應中斷，從安大略到魁北克皆在暴風襲擊的範圍內，風速高達每小時90公里。在遭受強風襲擊的主要地區蒙特婁，樹木、電線桿和街燈被吹倒，加上垃圾及雜物在街道上紛飛，情況混亂。安大略省第一電力公司估計，最高一度有逾7萬戶家停電，工作人員徹夜搶修，南安大略也遭遇大風，預測陣風時速高達100公里。有大樹被風吹倒壓到一輛汽車導致1女子意外死亡。
