原中華民國駐美副代表張大同9日返台接任國家安全會議副秘書長。當他在華府雷根國家機場即將登機時，一位代表處人員還問他，「公使，辦公室鑰匙呢？」因為他總是在清晨7時許就進辦公室，而在入夜時才離開，所以自行保管了一副辦公室鑰匙。

美東時間星期五是張大同在代表處工作的最後一天。他依然忙碌不已。星期六一早6時多即出門赴機場搭機回國；星期天晚上到達台北，星期一早上就要在國安會上班了。

難怪在僑界的歡送會上，駐美代表金溥聰推崇張大同為人盡心盡力，熱誠奉獻又愛國，「讓我打從心裡佩服」。

有一回，張大同指著一張與人合影的照片，說道，「這個沙發的顏色很好看……」其妻張和倫在旁搶白：「照片上是我們家耶。」熟識張大同的人，對這個故事一點不覺意外。有一位送行之人說，這簡直就是大禹治水三過家門而不入的現代版，「張大同可以叫做張大禹了」。

張大同畢業於台灣大學法律系，在美國印地安納大學拿到碩士，又是喬治‧華盛頓大學法學博士。他擁有華府律師資格，但他選擇了駐美代表處做為工作起點。後奉調至外交部服務，1997年起調回駐美代表處，先後擔任政治組長、國會組長等職。2003年4月，他向當時的民主進步黨政府請辭，轉任中國國民黨暨親民黨駐美副代表。08年7月31 日出任中華民國駐美副代表迄今。

1979年初，美國和中華民國斷交後1個多月，時任中共副總理鄧小平訪美。大批支持中華民國的留學生、僑胞聚集白宮門外抗議。當鄧小平在白宮的國宴講話時，不時傳來「中華民國萬歲」等陣陣聲浪。這些愛國青年中，有馬英九，也有張大同。30多年過去，提起這段往事，張大同依然潤濕了眼角。

張大同博學多聞，個性內斂。一位他的友人說，有兩個場合，他看到張大同感情奔放，一是在僑界聚會唱國劇，嗓音渾厚，京字京韻；一是在威廉波特的世界少棒大賽，與僑胞、留學生一道高呼「中華隊，加油！」

【楊忠翰／台北報導】今天下午3時許，908台灣國在凱道集會，並舉行丟鞋活動，未料台灣國總會長王獻極竟趁著警方將注意力放在主舞台時，率眾將外交部正門招牌拆下，並開始跟警方玩起捉迷藏，他先是群眾中四處逃竄，然後眾人簇擁下，步上舞台與警方對峙。

中正一分局分局長方仰寧隨即舉牌警告，並要求王獻極立即歸還招牌，警民雙方在舞台前方爆發小規模推擠，此時警方趁亂率隊由後方爬上舞台，一舉將招牌奪回。中正一分局表示，此次警方一共出動210名警力，針對王之行為，分局將會蒐集證據後，依毀損及妨害公務等罪傳喚他到案說明。

【綜合報導】香港升學競爭激烈，從幼兒園開始就要面試，孩子才1歲，父母就要起跑。將軍澳三間幼兒園，昨晨以先到先得方式，收取俗稱PN班的學前預備班入學申請表，大批去年龍年出生的龍寶寶家長，前天一早便開始在校外24小時通宵排隊，還有人全家總動員，出動多名成員在不同學校排隊，結果三校共有逾千人排長龍。

這三間幼兒園昨晨9時起，收取明年9月開學的PN班申請表。排隊家長在取得表格後，必須立刻填表、繳交個人資料及繳付30元港幣（約115元台幣）報名費，然後校方會安排面試日期。還有老人帶著8歲孫兒到場幫忙排隊，晚上讓孫兒在街頭席地而睡。

一名任職資訊科技業的梁先生，已一口氣報名10間幼兒園，以確保其1歲幼子明年進得了PN學前預備班。他表示，因為3歲長子沒讀PN班，「小班（K1）開學三周，唱歌繪畫，甚至老師教向左走向右走，同學都懂，只有我兒子跟不上節奏，連老師都說他是最慢的一個。我覺得跟他沒讀PN班有關。」因此他寧願排隊輪候一日一夜，都要幼子讀到好的PN班。

不過香港教師協會幼兒教育發言人翁巧香表示，不少家長為了「不讓孩子輸在起跑線」而爭相報讀PN班，但其實年僅2歲的小孩，最重要是與父母發展親子關係而非讀書，不應揠苗助長，小孩反會對學習失去興趣，後果會很嚴重。
