thumbnail 全球首座動物機場？紐約甘迺迪機場興建動物專屬航廈

全球第一座為動物打造的專屬機場航廈，預計在2016年初於紐約甘迺迪機場開幕。

名為The Ark（方舟）的航廈建案預計花費480萬美元，紐約港務局與紐澤西The Ark發展局簽了30年合約，並打造17.8萬平方英尺的動物航廈，預計每年可以運輸7萬隻大小動物。

方舟航廈將處理任何大型、小型動物的進口、出口、隔離、轉運等服務，雖然設在JFK機場，除了空運以外，也提供陸運的服務。此外，航廈也設有狗屋、鳥籠，並有專職獸醫協助動物克服飛行前的緊張。此外，恆溫控制的車輛、航廈、貨運設施也都備齊。並透過Temple Grandin教授所設計的動物運送管理系統，確保駱駝、羊、豬等動物從貨車到飛機運送過程，能確保動物的安全以及運輸效率。

方舟動物航廈完成後，也將會提供24小時的服務，未來不論是貓、狗寵物、馬、鳥語其他真奇異獸，都可以透過方舟航廈在美國境內轉運。
