台北市首創的「小綠人」號誌在民國88年3月18日誕生，首座設立在北市松智路、松壽路口，目前已有2268個「小綠人」號誌。台北市交通局在該路口設立了解說牌，昨天揭牌，有中、英文解說，也可以打卡。

「小綠人」號誌是由七種不同圖案組成，利用人眼視覺暫留，產生小綠人在走動、快跑的動畫，隨著秒數越來越短，「小綠人」會越跑越快，這也是全球第一座採用倒數計時和小綠人動畫的新型交通號誌，美國、德國、日本和大陸等國也陸續引進。
