英國老牌搖滾歌手喬考克(Joe Cocker)，不幸在英國當地時間周一(22日)因肺癌病逝，享年70歲。

喬考克從1964年開始走紅，灌錄過40張唱片，多次在全球巡迴演唱，年過60後仍不言休。他在1975年翻唱的《You Are So Beautiful》，停留全美《告示牌》(Billboard)排行榜前五名多時，也是這首歌傳世的多個版本中，最為廣為人知的一個版本：此外1983年與Jennifer Warnes為電影《軍官與紳士》(An Officer and A Gentleman)所演唱的主題曲《Up Where We Belong》，也為他奪下當年度的《葛萊美音樂獎》(Grammy Award)。

2007年，喬考克獲頒「大英帝國勳章」(OBE，Officer of the Order of the British Empire)，以表揚他對流行音樂的貢獻。（於慶中／綜合外電報導）
