傳奇控衛Jason Kidd結束短暫的紐約行後，新球季成為密爾瓦基公鹿總教練，談到陣中那位天賦一直高於實際成就的O.J. Mayo，基總認為，大家都誤會他了。

「O.J.的籃球智商非常高。」Kidd表示：「他懂得怎麼樣完成一次攻防，而且他是我們陣中投籃最棒的球員。」

Mayo上季從達拉斯小牛轉戰公鹿，52場出賽只有23場先發，整季繳出11.7分、2.4籃板、2.2助攻，投籃命中率從前年的44.9%降至生涯最低的40.7%。

今年熱身賽，Mayo倒吃甘蔗，首戰底特律活塞雖然9投僅1中，近3場平均攻下18.7分，命中率高達54.8%，難怪Kidd對他如此滿意。
