繼西班牙名將David Ferrer之後，盧彥勳再挫世界前十大好手，這次他打敗捷克高手Tomas Berdych，晉級辛辛那提網賽第三輪。

辛辛那提網賽為ATP與WTA共站賽事，男子隸屬ATP1000系列賽，盧彥勳過去最佳成績為2012年的三十二強。

Berdych現世界排名第五，盧彥勳過去與他三度交手都吞下敗仗，最近一次交手就是剛結束的羅傑斯盃，這次對決盧彥勳以3-6、6-3、6-4搶下生涯對戰首勝。

盧彥勳生涯在ATP1000系列賽最佳成績為2010年羅傑斯盃，這次已經追平個人在此層級賽事的最佳成績。

他接下來的對手是義大利選手Fabio Fognini及澳洲老將Lleyton Hewitt之戰的勝者，與前者對戰紀錄為1勝1敗，後者為2勝3敗。
