藍鳥和紅襪系列賽最後之戰，首局藍鳥就靠Melky Cabrera、Jose Bautista演出「背靠背」全壘打開啟攻勢，終場以7比2贏球，藍鳥完成此系列賽橫掃。

藍鳥由Mark Buehrle掛帥先發，本季表現令人驚豔，此役投7局5K，沒有保送，被敲7支安打僅失2分，拿下本季第8勝（2敗），防禦率2.16，暫居大聯盟勝投排行榜第1、美聯防禦王第2。


「看看Buehrle本季的表現！誰能投得比他好？」藍鳥教頭John Gibbons滿意地說。

投手有好表現，打擊也有發揮，藍鳥在首局連2轟，先馳得點，2局上藍鳥延續攻勢，9位打者輪番上陣，掃出5支安打，吃下5分大局，2局下，Buehrle挨轟丟1分，隨即穩住陣腳，7局投完，完全封鎖對方打線。

反觀紅襪，打線平平，僅在前2局靠一支一壘安打和陽春全壘打，攻得整場比賽唯一2分。

紅襪王牌投手Jon Lester本季表現差強人意，此役先發慘遭毒手，主投6.1局，被敲10安，丟掉7分，皆為責失分，送出3K，2次保送，吞下本季第6敗（4勝），防禦率3.36。
