「病患家屬的一個微笑，就是我們工作的動力！」5月12日是護師節，衛生福利部基隆醫院於今日上午10時許在院區提前慶祝，院方特別選出19位臨床護理人員及2位臨床照服員，表揚他們在臨床工作的付出，另外也安排，讓護理師們走星光大道接受同事的掌聲和歡呼，有護理師表示，現在願意從事護理工作的年輕人越來越少，在白色護理服下有許多辛酸不為人知，其實只要病患或家屬一個微笑與小卡片，都是對他們工作上的肯定，更是讓他們繼續為這份工作付出下去的動力。（戴之聖／基隆報導）
