據傳，微軟將推Windows 9，正式棄守 Windows 8！
我才剛買Nokia1520，不知道到時採windowsphone8的手機會不會被棄守？

以下是摘錄天下雜誌2014-01-13：
｢根據科技新聞網站The Next Web的報導，微軟觀察家保羅．瑟洛特（Paul Thurrott） 在網站上發表文章指出，微軟將在今年的開發者大會上，公布代號為Threshold的新版作業系統，也就是Windows 9，但正式發表的時間預計在2015年4月。

微軟希望藉由新版作業系統的推出，能徹底解決Windows 8目前遭遇到的多項難題，重新站穩在作業系統市場上的腳步。

原本微軟試圖以Windows 8打入行動市場，但結果卻是事與願違。無論是智慧型手機或平板電腦的作業系統市場，依舊是iOS以及Android兩強稱霸天下，至於個人電腦市場，Windows 8同樣慘遭滑鐵盧，至今只有10％的市佔率，表現遠遠不如當年的Windows 7。儘管去年10月，微軟推出了更新版本Windows 8.1，但仍是無力回天。Windows 8讓微軟在兩大市場均吞下敗仗。

推出Windows 9，等於是宣告了徹底放棄Windows 8，重新另起爐灶。但 Windows 9也背負了多項艱難任務，不僅要能順利整合Windows Phone、Windows RT以及個人電腦的Windows等三大作業平台，成為能夠在個人電腦、智慧型手機以及平板電腦等裝置上跨平台使用的作業系統。而且，它必須吸引開發者為Windows 9開發更多的應用程式，迅速建立 Windows 9生態系統，才能與iOS以及Android相抗衡。｣
