在火車上因痛斥霸位，而遭「珍珠哥」以珍珠攻擊的鑑識專家林茂雄教授，對於珍珠哥10日在媒體前道歉，林茂雄11日表示，這樣已經足夠，人難免會犯錯，能改過，社會還是會接受。

珍珠哥10日迫於輿論壓力，出面向林茂雄教授道歉，據報導，珍珠哥在公開道歉前，被公司主管要求致電給林茂雄教授表歉意，沒想到珍珠哥卻一句道歉的話都沒說出口，甚至說「這件事情我比較有錯」，氣得林茂雄大罵，最後由公司主管出面緩頰，林茂雄則說，若他真心道歉，在媒體上鞠躬就好。

林茂雄今日接受媒體採訪表示，要在媒體上公開道歉，是需要很大的勇氣，這樣已經足夠，不應再追究，人難免會犯錯，能改過，社會還是會接受，希望這起風波到此為止。
