知名市場預測人士、基金公司歐洲太平洋資本 (Euro Pacific Capital) 執行長席夫 (Peter Schiff) 建議，明年投資人應該買黃金及增加美國以外市場投資，因為美元價值將因央行繼續印鈔票而受到傷害。

席夫週一 (2 日) 接受《CNBC》訪問警告，投資人真的低估了美國經濟結構基礎問題的嚴重性，以及美國聯準會 (Fed) 每月收購 850 億美元公債的量化寬鬆 (QE) 政策，掩蓋並實際上惡化這些問題的程度。

儘管近期市場談論 Fed 將在明年開始退出 QE 的言論震天響，但席夫仍不預期明年 QE 會減碼，因 Fed 副主席葉倫 (Janet Yellen) 將接任現任主席伯南克 (Ben Bernanke) 領導央行貨幣政策。

席夫警告，Fed 史無前例的大規模貨幣刺激措施，只會摧毀美元價值。因為央行只能靠印更多鈔票，來買下所有這些公債；鈔票印得越多，美元價值就越低。因此他建議投資人，在新的一年應購買黃金，並加入國外市場曝險。
