【張麗娜／台北報導】民進黨中國事務委員會下午討論對中政策初稿，媒體報導黨內初步共識「向中間靠攏」、「放棄法理台獨」，行政院前院長謝長廷出席中國事務委員會前受訪時表示，「這沒有什麼向中靠攏，像美、韓都跟中國交流，是不是就是向中靠攏？」

謝說，台灣追求自己最大的利益，在務實、國際現實跟我們自己的力量，在主客觀情勢下追求人民最大幸福，這才是正確的，沒有什麼要交流就是向中靠攏，要檢討政策就說是向中靠攏，沒有檢討就是最堅定、最理想，這東西就沒有辦法再談。

被問及是否有必要調整台獨黨綱或「正常國家決議文」？謝說，民進黨一貫方式就是有決議，民進黨不斷有決議出來，有新的經濟情勢決議、國家正常化決議文、台灣前途決議文、國家一體文化多元決議文，沒有特別要針對以前哪個特別去修改，新的出來就會取代舊的。
