「失落世界」 發現3新物種

【張渝萍／綜合外電報導】澳洲學者與國家地理雜誌攝影團隊28日宣布，他們在澳洲北邊的約克角半島探險時，發現3種幾百年來與世隔絕的生物，故稱該地為「失落的世界」。

這支探險隊於今年稍早到約克角半島的梅爾維爾角山脈，途中發現3種從未見過的脊椎動物，包括外貌奇異的葉尾壁虎、金色的幽靈蜥蜴及疙瘩貌圓石青蛙。

葉尾壁虎身長20公分，有大眼睛及細長的身體，原始的樣貌有別於一般壁虎。葉尾壁虎通常是靜止不動的狀態來埋伏經過的昆蟲。而幽靈蜥蜴及圓石青蛙在乾季時會躲在陰濕的卵石堆裡，直到夏季較濕的季節則會爬出石堆來覓食。
