破除安寧療護三大迷思

十月十二日是世界安寧緩和醫療日，台灣安寧照顧協會今天上午在衛生福利部舉辦安寧療護影音創作比賽頒獎典禮。

衛福部醫事司指出，世界安寧日官方網站指出，現在阻礙安寧療護有三大迷思，一為安寧療護只服務癌症病患；二是接受寧療護代表「你已不久於人世」；三為安療護只服務會使用成癮性的嗎啡來處理疼痛。

不過，台大醫院金山分院院長黃勝堅說，台灣的安寧療護對象不限於癌症患者，包括使用呼吸器、洗腎、肝衰竭或心臟衰竭等患者，只要病況不可逆，預估生命存活期在半年至一年間，希望患者還能活動時，協助他們完成人生心願，不只會給嗎啡藥而已。
