林姓司機駕駛砂石車，在四日凌晨二點多，開到關西鎮水坑產業道路的偏僻處，傾倒廢磚至路旁草堆裡，後車斗在傾倒時，因車頭與車身角度大，車身重心不穩被後車斗拉翻，且後車斗砂石重量壓往駕駛座，造成林姓駕駛來不及脫困，當場被車斗壓死。
