台南市府回應男子自焚案

【劉榮輝／台南報導】台南市政府晚間針對陳姓精神病患自焚案，發表聲明呼籲市民冷靜看待孫文銅像遷移，並另提安置地點可考慮將銅像就近遷到南區的水交社眷村文化園區。
 
台南市長賴清德今天下午5時30分，在奇美醫院主治醫師陪同下，抵達燒燙傷病房探視自焚的陳姓男子，與陳男透過對講機通話。賴清德表示，銅像並沒有要拆除銷毀，純粹是基於文化資產保存與古蹟的重現而要遷移到更適當的地點，並希望陳男能珍惜生命，不要輕易放棄寶貴的生命。
 
賴清德同時囑咐奇美醫院全力給予陳男醫療照顧，對發生此一不幸事件，市府則深表遺憾。
