鐿晶格鐘 號稱全球最精準

（法新社華盛頓22日電） 美國科學家今天表示，他們打造出全球最精準的時鐘，以「秒」為單位的測量誤差，不超過10的18次方分之1秒。

這個由鐿元素（ytterbium）打造的時鐘，除了可用來看時間外，還可應用在多種先進技術方面，如導航、測量磁場和溫度。

美國國家標準技術研究所（NIST）物理學家、研究報告共同作者魯德洛（Andrew Ludlow）發表聲明說：「鐿晶格鐘的穩定性為精準計時的實務應用，開創多樣契機。」

這份報告發表於「科學」（Science）期刊。（譯者：中央社張詠晴）
