微軟正在籌備發表一款帶有電池的 Surface 鍵盤，名為「 Power Cover」。雖然尚未有具體的電池容量資訊，不過消息稱「它將為 Surface 帶來明顯的續航能力升級」。Power Cover 與 Type Cover 一樣採用機械鍵盤，厚度為 9.75mm。

對微軟下一代 Surface 產品線有所瞭解的 Neowin 及 Paul Thurrott 今日又透過網路爆料，微軟正在籌備發表一款帶有電池的 Surface 鍵盤，名為「 Power Cover」。雖然尚未有具體的電池容量資訊，不過消息稱「它將為 Surface 帶來明顯的續航能力升級」。

Power Cover 與 Type Cover 一樣採用機械鍵盤，但不是後者的升級版。除 Power Cover 外，微軟還準備了 Type Cover 2，這是兩類相互獨立的外部設備。由於增添了電池，Power Cover 的厚度為 9.75mm，較 Type Cover 5.33mm 上升不少。相應的，Power Cover 重 520g，是 Type Cover的兩倍有餘。

將 Power Cover 與 Surface 設備相連後，它會自動為 Surface 充電。先前的資訊顯示，Surface Pro 2 的續航能力因為處理器升級已經比 Surface Pro 高出 2 小時，有了 Power Cover 後其續航能力將步入一流水準。確切資訊顯示，Power Cover 向下相容 Surface Pro，不相容 Surface RT。考慮到 Surface RT 本身不錯的續航，用戶應該能夠接受 Power Cover 的不相容。

消息稱，微軟不會隨第二代 Surface 產品線一同發佈 Power Cover，這款新的設備將晚於新 Surface 發佈。搭配這款更厚、更重、更強續航的 Power Cover，Surface Pro 與Ultrabook又更相似了一些。
